Sex and relationships, Revealed: Tips for women to boost sex life
Dr Ellwood-Clayton’s top advice is to read erotic literature like Fifty Shades trilogy or the ones by Anais Nin, Erica Jong and Kate Holden.
Sleeping naked can also help boost your sex life, she said.
Hire someone to do the cleaning, as doing laundry is not an aphrodisiac. And the less cleaning a woman does, the sexier she feels, she noted citing Betty Friedan’s quote: “No woman gets an orgasm from shining the kitchen floor.”
She suggests women to shut down their laptops and TVs, adding that there’s a greater chance of intimacy if they retire early and are already in bed.
Women are also asked to try sexting. It suggests women to send their partner outrageously dirty texts.
Exercise and nutritious diet may help build a healthy body and support a healthy libido, she said.
Next she cited a 2009 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, which found that drinking one or two glasses of red wine each day increases female desire.
In addition watching erotic-themed films like The Last Seduction, Betty Blue, Secretary, Sex and Lucia may provide sexual satisfaction.
Or women can try using sex toys, according to Dr Ellwood-Clayton.
If all else fails, get drunk, turn off the lights and grope on the couch, she suggested.
